Your Bowen Therapy session is guided by what I observe and how your body responds. There is no particular way you are expected to feel during or after your session. The suggestions below are simply here to help you prepare comfortably, give your body time to respond, and notice what feels meaningful afterward.

Before Your Session

A little preparation can help you feel comfortable and allow me to better assess how your body is moving and responding. Where possible:

  • Drink water leading up to your session

  • Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for your session

  • Give yourself enough time to arrive and settle in without feeling rushed

  • Try not to arrive with expectations about what or where I may work

  • Share any information that may be relevant to your session

Your session is guided by what I observe and how your body responds, rather than by a predetermined routine.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Give your body time and space to respond to the Bowen work at its own pace.

You may wish to:

  • Continue your usual hydration

  • Enjoy an Epsom salts bath or simply soak your feet if that feels supportive

  • Get up and move around regularly rather than remaining in one position for long periods

  • Listen to your body and rest when you feel you need to

  • Notice any changes in your movement, comfort, energy or sleep

  • Allow your body time to respond to the Bowen work before adding other hands-on or bodywork modalities

Avoid judging the session by whether you notice an immediate change.

YOU MAY WANT TO NOTICE...

Movement • Comfort • Ease • Energy • Sleep • Awareness

There is nothing on this list that you are expected to experience.
